Bookings & Payments

How do I check availability for my date?

Please contact our events team on 01388 602922 or email enquiries@barufc.co.uk. We recommend booking well in advance, particularly for Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

Is a deposit required?

Yes, a deposit is typically required to secure your booking. The remaining balance and final guest numbers must be confirmed 14 days prior to your event.

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits are generally non-refundable; however, we assess cancellations on a case-by-case basis. Please refer to your booking agreement for full terms and conditions.


Venue & Facilities

What is the capacity of the function room?

Our main suite can comfortably accommodate up to [Insert Capacity, e.g., 120] guests for a standing reception or [Insert Capacity, e.g., 80] for a seated meal.

Is the venue accessible for guests with mobility issues?

Yes, our clubhouse and function rooms are located on the ground floor with level access and accessible toilet facilities.

We have an extensive private car park at West Mills Playing Fields, which is free of charge for your guests.

Can we hire the outdoor space?

Yes, our playing fields can be hired for larger community events, marquees, or family fun days. Please discuss your specific requirements with the Club Manager.


Catering & Bar

Can we provide our own catering?

We offer a variety of high-quality, in-house catering packages. If you wish to use an external caterer, this must be agreed upon at the time of booking and may be subject to a kitchen hire fee.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes. We can provide vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Please ensure all dietary needs are highlighted at least two weeks before your event.

What time is the bar licensed until?

Our standard license allows for alcohol service until 23:00 on weekdays and 00:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Extensions may be possible for specific events subject to council approval.

Can we decorate the room ourselves?

You are welcome to decorate the room to suit your theme. We only ask that you do not use adhesives that may damage the paintwork and that all decorations are removed at the end of the function.

Are we allowed to have a bouncy castle or inflatables?

Inflatables are permitted in our outdoor spaces. For indoor use, please note our ceiling height is restricted; only low-profile "toddler" inflatables are suitable. All external suppliers must provide proof of public liability insurance.

Do you provide a DJ or live music?

While we do not provide a resident DJ, we have a permanent stage and can recommend local entertainers who are familiar with our venue’s setup.
